Sorry guys, but I tried a couple times and couldn't find a thread dedicated to the AK.

So I was wondering.

Whats the best attachment for the AK in your opinion?

Is it good without stopping power (Exact stats if you have them)

And any real "tactics" for it that may be handy?

Best attatchment IMO is no attatchment at all. Without any attatchment, the gun has no idle sway, making long range shots much easier to pull off. If you do go with one, I'd use silencer, FMJ, or Ext. Mags.

With SP it takes 2 bullets at close range and 3 at a distance to kill.
Without SP it takes 3 and 4.

As for strategy, this is my "loud and proud" gun. I use SOH, SP, and SA as my perks with Akimbo Deagles as my secondary.

Imo: With SoH, no attachments or silencer.
Without SoH, extended mags is probably a must.

Silenced for sure. I'm biased though because I use silencers on all my assault rifles. But everyone else is right, you definitely don't need any kind of a sight on it.

You say it's bad, the F2000 and Desert Eagle are far, far worse. Than everything.

The AK47 isn't even bad, it's just overshadowed by the TAR-21... and vs the SCAR-H it has a bit more recoil but 10 more bullets in the mag.

Well, except for the "attachments = aim sway"... learn to aim.

I use the AK with the Holographic Sight, makes it so much easier to aim (not that aiming is hard in this game but...), across-map shots won't even talk much effort at all.

Otherwise I use FMJ/Silencer.

i just got the AK yesterday. and i've got like 100+ kills in like 2 hours of using it. Use it with silencer or FMJ with SOH.

Personally I think extended mags is the best but again i love extended mags.

If you are fighting in an open and ranged map i would recommend the holographic sight. It allows quick ADS and allows that precision to knock down that longshot.

If you are in CQB or mid range fighting i would either use the silencer or FMJ, depending on what game mode you are in.

Also, the AK + Stopping Power works great. However i do not have the exact stats.

personally i like a RDS or a holographic on it, but then again, I like an RDS or holographic sight on all my assault rifles...

Can someone please confirm, is the idle sway with all attachments incl. FMJ or just the 'physical' ones? not that it really matters, it's actually a pleasure to wield a gun that requires self control. I love the way the gun animation recoils with every round, even though the actual recoil isn't half as bad.

Before I mentioned that I never used an attatchment. Well I've started using FMJ on it and I gotta say that the idle sway is barely noticeable except for at long range. So if your using this gun on small maps I'd say go with FMJ, unless you hate the irons then try RDS. For some reason I hate the holo on this gun.

I also use with FMJ, and can confirm that recoil is really not noticeable unless firing at long range. Even then, if you miss, just wallbang the shit out of them.

They are pointless on the AK though. And the RPD. Probably some others too, cause the iron sights still show thru the sight
