blue1golf, i actually have the same question which i have tried unsuccessfully to search for. I've been hit from across the map by quickscopers but when i try I can't hit someone who is 10 feet away. Forget quickscoping, only do it if you have fun with it as I do. Otherwise, you just sit there and go 3-29 every game and get pissed off.

Scavenger + Barrett is the way to go

Trying to deliberately scope in and FIRE THE INSTANT THE SIGHT APPEARS EVEN IF IT'S NOT ON THE TARGET is retarded. Just scope, aim, and shoot (of course aim while you scope in).

I agree with megika, makes me CRAZY when team mates do it, makes me even more crazy to put 2 shots into someone and then be killed by a no scope. I've given it a shot. I have to assume that if you are "good" at it, it would be fun. Sniping is not my style in general, quick scoping is just completely useless to me

I think I'm actually better at quickscoping than hardscoping. If I constantly try to quickscope someone I can fire off multiple shots and am more likely of killing them than if I keep trying to line up the perfect shot and they keep moving. Also quickscopes are neccessary in cqc because you don't have time to aim otherwise you die so uhm yeah thats why I do it. I also do it cuz im a legit 1337 clutch mlg pro.

Dragscoping is much more efficient. General tactics are don't be a retard and rush into the fray as if you were carrying an MP5K. Just aim in the vicinity of the target, swoop your crosshairs in the general direction of the enemy, shoot. In time you'll get better at it.

Most youngin's just record quickscopes for their uber l33t montage with bad rap music and shitty effects.

Exactly what Ninja said.

Dragscoping only takes half a second & increases your chances of hitting atleast 10-fold. Why not do it?

Default Re: Quick scoping?

I reiterate, you're all fucking morons.

Here's the process of shooting someone with a sniper rifle. If you argue with me, you are an idiot because this is THE most efficient method possible.

1. Find target.
2. Simultaneously raise scope and move screen towards target.
3. Check to see if target is in the middle. If yes, skip to step 4. If no, skip to step 5.
4. FIRE! Oops, you just did a quickscope.
5. Aim and FIRE! Oops, you just did a dragshot.

If you're not doing this, you're doing is WRONG and shit doesn't matter anyway. If you ARE doing this, everyone can go and stfu about quick/dragscoping/whatever pointless term you want to apply next.

Black Ops will separate the 'skilled' quickscopers and the tryhards. I'm guessing there will be a new no scope trend now

Haha, just do what VIS said, and Ninja had it right. Drag scopping is the way to go, and incorporate hard scoping with a couple drag scopes here and there until you get the hang of it. Just dont be that kid that tries to get a kill cam on search and everyone throws there controllers at the TV watching you fail miserably.

i'd like to know why. I'm just guessing that people will not bother trying to quickscope without SoH and begin no-scoping. But i can see why that seems like a stupid opinion

EDIT: If it changes anything, i'm talking about console

I believe there is still SoH pro, which changes nothing, can someone confirm this though?

Yes, Sleight of Hand Pro is still the same, it just doesn't effect the ADS time of sniper rifles, therefore a less abundance of players running around quickscoping. Well, quickscoping will be far less effective. Hopefully it can go back to traditional sniping than running around like a douche.

I wouldn't even call quickscopers now skilled in the least fashion. They are all try hards and to those that aren't just enjoy Painkiller. The only thing noscopers have to go to now is Steady Aim, which is still laughable at best on MW2.

I could not agree more. My friend seems to think you need to be skilled to QS, when all you do is point and shoot.

Stop it. It's one thing, decrying people who claim to quickscope as a "playstyle" for the right reasons but you're obviously trying to look like you have the same opinions as the big boys without even understanding what's actually going on.

OF COURSE YOU FUCKING POINT AND SHOOT. That's the point of THE ENTIRE GAME.

The thing with quickscoping is, it used to be something that was done in a last ditch effort when you were to retarded to use a proper secondary in CQC. Some kids thought it'd be cool to perma do it & claim themselves skilled for doing et voila.
