I am a beginner to quick scoping.
Just to clarify, I am using: Intervention FMJ Sleight of Hand Pro Stopping Power Pro Steady Aim Pro Sensitivity Set to High I get more hit markers than kills. I'm starting to think this may be due to a poor connection. Could this be due to moving too much while firing? Poor Aim? Bad Timing? I bring it up because it is very frustrating to consistently hit and get no kill (either that or they drop to final/last stand which is also very aggravating). Any advice is appreciated, but please spare me your personal comments on how quick scoping is luck or lame or whatever. I've read a handful of guides and I'm just trying to have fun with it. |

Dragscoping is much more efficient. General tactics are don't be a retard and rush into the fray as if you were carrying an MP5K. Just aim in the vicinity of the target, swoop your crosshairs in the general direction of the enemy, shoot. In time you'll get better at it.
It's just a matter of point and shoot. There really isn't a point in quickscoping unless you are one of those kids that do it for their montages. Last edited by NinJa; 10-19-2010 at 01:11 PM. |

Where on the body your shot lands is completely random at the speed at which I see console players trying to scope. Just slow down and actually take a moment to check your shot.
EDIT: Visual aids taste nice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BDM-OluTbs Note the shot from primary bunker into the plane. That's what you'll want to be aiming for in terms of speed. It's still fast enough to be efficient when you're not paying enough attention to be prescoped but not so fast as to become inconsistent. EDITEDIT: Video makes me sound like a slow retard. That was the recording software queueing up individual audio voice clips incorrectly. Don't bother.

That you get hitmarkers has barely, if nothing to do with your connection. While quickscoping you can't really tell where you'll hit (as vis said, it goes to fast to really comprehend and adjust your aim) so it's all random. You do get better in time when you've learnt how to mess properly with the aim-assist. I.e. you know how much to move your crosshairs to the centermass of the body and avoiding most hitmarkers. Against better opponents who'll dropshot and use cover etc you're pretty much fucked but gl! When I started to snipe some, I rarely tend to do so lately because I do so much better with a Famas or an ACR, I started to quickscope/fast scope /drag scope whatever in FFA's. You won't get good scores at start, but after a while you will hopefully get the hang of it. I can go into most FFA's and pull of a win using a sniper rifle now since I've got some experience with it. If you feel that you can consistently hit your enemies and you feel that you want to step up your game. Then I'd suggest that you play SnD, not because of LULZKILLCAMPRONOSCOPE but that you will exercise you're situational awareness and you will have to almost perfect your aim with the sniper in order to survive.

Quickscoping isn't too fast to comprehend. Bad quickscoping done by baddies who don't realise that the killcam is bugged and won't record the scope zooming all the way in depening on the time frame do it to quickly too comprehend, i.e. before the shot actually becomes accurate or in the frame in which you can't tell where scope sway has defaulted the sight to.

Your definitio of a quickscope is wrong, then. The one that's been in use and is still in use since Counterstrike refers to a shot for which the aiming is done simultaneously to raising the scope. There's nothing in the generally-agreed-upon definition that precludes 0.15 or w/e time spent checking and fine-tuning, as is required without Promod in CoD.

Since it's not a fact but a definition I'm completely able to label my own version though, right?
