I've tried everything but I cant strafe jump. I watched numerous tutorials that all pretty much say the same thing: run forward, turn left or right, jump.... Ok but I try that and nothing happens maybe a little clarification could help.

1) when you run do you press the left analog down to run fast or just press the left analog forward to move forward?

2) Do you turn with the right analog before you jump or as your doing it?

I'd really appreciate any help.

1) You can do either. If you're rushing, then sprint (press the left analog down). Otherwise just walk (press analog forward)

2) Turn with the analog as you jump.

Instead of reinstating Wunda's "offending" post, you deleted the OTHER valid post to address his complaint. Because of that, I'm going to repost what I said ealier and I urge Wunda to do it too.

Don't bother with strafe jumping on console. It's way too much trouble to be worth it. Your problems with it are a prime example.

Anyway, to offer something constructive. Strafe jumping not only offers very little benefit to console players, it is also hard to do properly (i.e. better than just running away, or moving behind cover).

Strafe jumping also requires a relatively precise movement to gain a significant speed advantage, something which is only really possible using keyboard buttons and mouse movement.

Happy now?

EDIT: Wait, after re-reading the OP, I have come to the conclusion that this thread, and therefore my post, is worthless, as he seems to be using it for completely recreational use, and has absolutely no idea how it should/can be usefully implemented.

Fair play if he wants to use it to access wierd areas, I suppose. I now for a fact that set strafe jumps are a godsend on Highrise for getting through the underground section without actually touching the floor.
