...is there going to be a MW3 forum? Considering that in went from C4F to MW2F, it seems that the MW series ushers in a new forum.
Got the idea from this thread. |

We should just make this a "Forum That People Like To Play Games But Rarely Talk About Games More Like Random Shit Cause We Have Nothing Better To Do At Work Or We Don't Have A Job And Don't Have IRL Friends So We Talk To People On Here and 1337 Scoperz R Teh Gays"

There are no plans for a MW3, or similar, forum.

There's an MW3 forum, which was the Blops forum. Voodoo and Fandom are mods over there, I believe.
As me and abc discussed a while ago, iEntry missed a trick by not going with an overall CoD forum rather than one for each specific game. Hindsight etc.

I know very little about domains, etc. so I'm assuming it wouldn't be possible to change this to a general CoD forum?
if not then it's still fine hanging out with the usual suspects, really all you need to know from CoD is given by Denkirson etc. etc. and the rest are threads complaining about new things.

We've been through this in several threads and the answer is always the same. The original plan was to create a non-version-specific Call of Duty "hub." On the face of it this had loads of advantages in it's own right but crucially avoided loads of problems associated with starting a new forum for every new game. From a technical point of view the idea seemed feasable. I do not know why this idea was abadoned and instead the "new game = new forum = business/technical issues" plan was carried on. It's probably worth remembering that the owners are an email advertising company, not a forum-making/selling company.

abc, if you read this, merge this with this thread.
I know, I know, I'm late to the party... Quote:
Over the last 3 years, I took the risk of buying a bunch of different domain names, none of them took off all that much. How do I know? I pay attention to trends, and bubbles. But if you really want to be a successful domain developer, you have to be committed to the success of the site. Ientry's tactics are very good, but the market that Ientry inhabits are largely computer-related, largely business-related. Gaming is like their "side" business. You're better off with a company that develops, and makes websites for a living. ABC says that's not what they do... Quote:
Even though that Ientry's "selling" tactic is via e-mail marketing... The company's whole operation is based around delivering content to whomever the market they're trying to sell to. In the first place you'd need content and a relevant "site" to go hand-in-hand with the e-mail's subject. For example, if you want to sell to MW3 customers, you HAVE to buy a domain name that's similar. If you e-mail your customers using an older domain name such as this site, and it appears "dead." You're actually losing money, rather then anything. In other words, your e-mail will fall in deaf ears. Even though that your company is an email company, it's largely a marketing company first - That is the whole idea behind companies such as Ientry. Whether Ientry likes it or not, or the fact that they don't see it or not - companies like Internet Brands are actually indirect competitors to Ientry. When investors see that, they will lose confidence in, and lose interest in Ientry. I know this, because I'm a business owner, that's inspired by Ientry, Internet Brands [whom 2 years ago just purchased vBulletin], and others. In fact, Ientry and IB are both in my business plan. Quote:
Let me put it this way: I took a really big, and I mean really big risk by purchasing MW3Blog, and CODForums... Which both costed me over 2 thousand dollars combined. And this is in one of the weakest economies since the 1980's stock market collaspe. This is with a mentality that I am stuck in the corner in a rut. That "No where else to go." kind of way. I put every ounce, every fiber of my entire being into both properties, it rewarded me with a steady growth on income. But I didn't do it for the money, I did it because of a lot of things. I wanted to reach new milestones, I have more than 2 already. Marketing has been a acquired talent of mine. It was evident in building MVC3Forum. My entire point here is that even though you spend money to make a Return of Investment. It is not always easy. I want you to understand this because this is the state of things right now. I tried to buy out CODForum [that's without the s in there, so don't get confused] and the owner only recently registered the domain name last year. Mine is 7 years old - the domain was created during the popularity of Call of Duty. Yet, when I saw CODForum - the site was small, and the guy asks for three thousand dollars. So, I was like "nah... its too much for a site this small" and the site grew in 2 months. When I went back to him about the purchase, you know what the asshole did? He turned around on his previous offer, and told me that he wants it for: $10,000 Let's put this in perspective, BlackOpsForum which was created last year, grew to 26 thousand members by the time it was sold - want to know the price? $24,000 Yeah, like I said. Its not always easy going out and buying websites.

Because you over analyzed a fairly straight forward question.

I'm sorry.
It was not my intention to be over-analyzing. I'was trying to help.
