Compulsory thread tagging according to platform in clan forums

I've tried NOT treating you like a total retard but I guess that I'll have to lay it out for you since you obviously didn't understand the point of the other thread.

Make it COMPULSORY for players and teams with ads in each forum to tag their thread appropriately so that readers don't have to individually open each thread to find out whether or not their platform and/or region is appropriate. This is beyond simply and anyone who can't figure out how to do this probably shouldn't be on the internet and should have a minder to feed them and change their clothes anyway.

Tags will work like this...

[360-US]LOLOL I R HAZ TEAM PLZ
[PS3-US]what is this i dont even

As opposed to...

O HAI I CAN HAZ TEAM... which is what we have now x20.

What's the best way of implementing this in your opinion?

1. Obviously we can't ban everyone who makes un-informative titles or doesn't use a tag - wouldn't have many users left.
2. We could just delete any non-tagged or stupidly-titled clan thread - we'd have few left
3. We could rely on mods to fix titles & tags (most consistant, but there would always be a delay)

People are unlikely to read a rule or bother with a more complex pre-defined tag system, most people posting in clan section just want to spam down their website/contact details, say how they are the l33t3st clan out there and GTFO the forum and onto another asap.

The reason that most of the existing posts will have disappeared is because a similar standard doesn't currently exist. Since this one is so easy to pick up, the best course of action would probably be to create a sticky and edit tags onto all existing threads, locking any that don't provide any relevent platform/region information. I guess that the best way of incorporating regions into these tags would be to make their inclusion optional. This'll simplify it even further for the average 'tard and reduce clutter so to speak.

People pick up on social norms best by learning by example. Stumbling into a forum featuring fully-tagged threads will make most people follow suit.

In the future, lock any threads without tags to encourage posters to abide by such organisational rules, punishing them for breaking them. It'll be easy enough for them to repost the thread with the inclusion of tags. This shouldn't create too much clutter since there shouldn't be too many of these delinquents.

In the future, I'm going for deleting but obviously this "threat" will be included in the rules thread. The massive majority, those who sign up and a make a topic and maybe post once or twice more, really don't care whether a thread is locked so long as they've got their "advert" down.

That's a good call. Do include a PM, though. Otherwise, they'll just end up being confused.
