Ok so I half understand and half don't understand the big deal. I can see that you don't want people just signing up and posting a video or x amount of videos.. but is it really that bad and that often? I'm new so i really don't know.. and I've gotten the vibe that it seems kind of uptight and picky about the people who post. I mean.. it's like I have to be excepted into the gang to be worthy of showing a video.

You have the "Modern Warfare 2 Media & Resources" thread to post videos in.. so why can't people choose what videos they want to see? However, I think if the forum is going to have a restriction then maybe the video should just have to be approved before it can be posted.

I joined the forum because every once in a while I get bored so I figured I like playing CoD so why not join a forum and see what other people are up to... I didn't think there would be restrictions like this. It should be fun!! lol. Sorry if I don't totally understand or know what is going on because like I said.. I just started posting.

I can understand wanting to sift out the people who make trouble but it just seems like the video situation is a bit over the top. If someone wants to post a video that is appropriate I don't see why there should be a problem. Ohhh well..

We mainly put in this restriction because many new members were basically using this forum as another outlet to advertise their videos with no intention of actually contributing to the discussions/guides/community/ect. We're just one of the hundreds of COD forums they've probably done this to.

Let's use this analogy *ahem* Forums such as ea, iw, Public Forums, are like a college frat party. Everyone can get in and it's utter chaos. There are very little rules so everyone just makes a mess of things like pissing on your furniture. The members/(mods) don't do anything about it cause they are passed out on the toilet or in the hallway from drinking too much. Thus, more pissing on lamps.

Now for us...we are more like a private club. We have rules to make sure things run smoothly. Sure some of the rules "suck" but it's for the best of the forum. We don't accept people here that just use us for booze (aka Youtube Sub-whoring). This "small" community keeps people coming back to us and if you notice there are a lot of close not so in real life friends.

If people have something to contribute and make our community better then a trial period should be no problem for them. With good contribution the site patrons will be more inclined to watch their videos. So basically it works out the best for everyone this way.

(Just for clarification I have nothing against fraternities as I was in one. However mine was a smaller fraternity because we used discretion when accepting new members. Kinda like this forum )

regarding the new kids wondering what all the fuss was about.

a while back there were heaps of people subwhoring and spamming videos, often in the wrong section and generally making mess and contributing nothing. a lot of these videos were terrible, like, cam infront of TV and no editing. As such the established community & mods agreed that some kind of post limit be introduced to dissuade these subwhores. As such a post limit of 25 posts was introduced. It was quickly discovered that 25 posts was not particularly effective and was bumped to the now 50 posts. the amount of subwhores has dramatically reduced as such. This thread is a review of whether or not the current rule is effective or in need of tweaking/overhauling.
