Quick question about threads...

If I were to make a thread about a hack (asking someone to help me hack my OFFLINE account), would that be considered illegal on this forum? I didn't seem to find anything about it in the rules.

That's what our rules say regarding laws etc.

A "EULA" (the long list of terms & conditions you agree to when you use any piece of software) is legally enforcable and given that they almost always cover modding/hacking you could be viewed as breaking the EULA thus your terms of use thus using the program illegally. However I don't "do" law but it all sounds rather vague and unreliable to enforce at best.

Happily the community is far less vague and we have a strong "play fair" ethos. "Cheating" isn't fun and isn't tollerated by our members.

If you want to talk about modding as in map making etc for the PC version (which, prior to MW2 where allowed in the EULA) then please go ahead.

A better way of doing this would simply be to ask you :L What/why are you modding SP to achieve?

I can see how that could all sound rather confusing, to summarise:

If it gives you an unfair advantage over other players that isn't included in the original game - then it's probably not permitted.

Well, actually I just wanted my Offline account (For Split Screen) hacked to Level 70 10th Prestige, for some fun, playing with my brothers.

Why bother going to 10th with an offline profile? I just boosted two offline profiles on my xbox to lv 70 and unlocked all attachments for all guns so I could play with my brother offline and still have everything. It didn't take too long to do either since I did both accounts at the same time.

10th because I want to experiment with different Custom Classes without changing them all the time. But I see your point.

This is an interestingly grey area... I suppose using any hack offline (bar the fact that it can lead to the development of online hacks) won't ever annoy more than 3 other people. Go ahead and make a topic, but this being a predominantly online & anti-hack based community I'd be suprised if google wasn't far more helpful.

I did google, and I did find a way to do it, but I just can't get the damn thing to work. But hell, I'll survive without it.
