Default What's a "nice" way of saying "THIS FORUM HAS SMART PPL"?

Recent posts from Abc and Voodoo reminded me of the unusual (For a CoD forum) concentration of intelligent, articulate and reasonable people that are active here. I'm going to assume that, like C4F, this forum is going to migrate domains again with the advent of BO with most of its active members tagging along even if they don't have BO.

How, then, do we hold on to what we have?

How about catering this site towards advanced players, players serious about learning to improve their play and those interested in more calculated debate than what typically goes on on CoD forums? I'm pretty sure that the image has the potential to be very attractive for a small-but-vocal demographic, as well as attracting hits from lurkers here to check out the quality content that would inevitably spawn without being too keen to join in unless they're confident that they are able to contribute.

You forget that this site is a MW2 forum and as such "advanced players", "serious players" etc will most likely play BO (if it's any good) or stick with CoD4.

You will still get people that are "less" intelligent that will play BO a lot because it is the next new thing.

I saw on a forum somewhere that the admin blatantly declared, in the rules, that if you are incompetent and/or disagree with him on anything you will be banned. Orrrrr, force them to take an IQ test before they can join.

I *HIGHLY* doubt IEntry wants a "small-but-vocal" demographic. They want mega sites with lots of members. Why else merge boards with c4f to create a MW2F megasite? No, as long as IEntry is running things, it will be a free for all.

Also I think you mean to say "less game savy" I resent being called unintelligent because my gaming knowledge inferior to yours. Because I feel that I have much more knowledge in other aspects that do arise on forums.

I'm sure enough constructive criticism (not sure which of the two has more emphasis) applied to posts made will eventually result in the people the vocal majority don't like not posting as much or maybe even thinking more before they do.

Please reread my post and refer to the part about generating content. The site that I have in mind will become a lurker's heaven as all content will be generated by the competent. Take a look at the Relicnews forums general discussion section if you want a general idea of what I mean.

As for the second part of your post, stop being so insecure. I never inferred that those unknowledgeable about the game can be consdered as unintelligent. I never even implied it. I never even stated that game knowledge is required to generate quality content so I have no idea as to why you're getting so defensive.

I'm going to take this as a chance to put this out there. Knowledge of the CoD franchise and its mechanics can be entirely overlooked in terms of a person's ability to produce quality content. I attained my present level of knowledge after a week of playing CoD4 and a few hours of studying its incredibly simple mechanics. The subtler parts like the mechanics behind strafe jumping and FPS key points didn't even take that long because, relatively subtle as they are, they're still ultimately simple. The only things that it takes to produce content that will actually draw viewers are an open and critical mind (An ACTUAL open mind, not those pitiful excuses of such that openly deny evidence in favour of keeping options open because they don't understand how to assess what's in front of their eyes).

lulz I sorries. I confess I skimmed.

Hmmmm this type of site would require a LOT more ironclad modding. I like the idea of that.

Not really, since this community pretty much takes care of itself when it comes to keeping the morons out. The only thing that'll have to change is the Google flavour text.

If it was a site birthed from this one...the upstart certainly WOULD require a lot of moderating in the beginning...lol

Side note; if there was going to be a dedicated Black Ops site, wouldn't it have been "released" by now?

Only saying this because the game is less than a month away and I'm sure this site was opened several months before MW2's release.

Good point. iEntry might just be acting a little bit slow but I personally don't see it as conclusive evidence. Could anyone from the mod team get in touch with our admin about this?

I presume that a Black Ops section will be added in the same way that WAW was added to C4F.

I think the best way to implement BO would simply be to remove the BO forum from the "Other COD Games" section, and add a new section in the same structure as the MW2 section.

I think thats most likely. We haven't been made aware off any changes regarding BO

I wasnt involved in these boards before MW2, but regardless of that, to me it seems like Black Ops will be significantly bigger & more popular than W@W was?

They're a corporation, so they need to do extensive amount of research.

MY research is that the name "Black Ops" is very broad out there. And likewise, finding a good COD: Black Ops domain is is bad. Too many of these websites have LOOOOONG domain names. LOOOONG.

I don't think iEntry cares much to buy another domain name for black ops.

I already tried buying www.blackopsforum.com and the owner isn't interested in selling. I had enough money to buy it. If he sells it, I am going to be VERY mad. I asked him before I spent any of my cash.

I think it's time for this topic to retire... I'd like to say thanks for the OP which, given your average tone, is as near as you'll get to a compliment

COD owner - COD expansion pack owner - COD2 owner - COD2: BRO player - COD3 owner - COD4 owner - COD:WaW owner - COD: MW2 owner - COD: BO owner

This is getting repetitive.
