Default Video card keeps cutting out.

Alright, so I have an ATI Radeon X1300 Pro (POS doesn't begin to describe it) and I just upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate, but the thing keeps cutting out whenever I play as little as RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 on it. I've run DXDIAG and everything on it, but no dice. Is there anything I can do to fix it, I mean it might be the card somehow overheating or the CPU screwing up (Or worse, the motherboard). I don't exactly have the money to buy a new video card and I doubt there are very powerful low-profile cards out there.

What should I do?

EDIT: Other tests I've done (To failure)
CoD4 Demo on "PlayStation 2 settings"
Minecraft Classic
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Demo

Define cutting out.

As in the monitor goes blank completely, kills the game in question, and ATI Control Center says the driver became unresponsive, which is BS in the sense that the drivers are completely up to date.

ah right, I know what you mean. The solution is almost always to install different drivers, whether it's to roll them back, download an older one or to update them, anything except the ones you currently have are worth trying.

Also download and install another copy of DX 9.0c.

In one sense whether a driver/program is up to date means nothing if part of it is corrupt (which is what reinstalling the same thing solves)
