After 2 days of editing due to vegas bugging in the most retarded ways, I finally got to the part where I got a video & want to upload it.
Anyhow: > Youtube crashing 9/10 times, just completly fucking up my computer > Only time youtube finished the upload, it failed afterwards since apparantly .avi isn't a supported format ![]() > Wegame only allows <1gig, movie is 3,10gig (I cut it in 2 parts for youtube obv) > Noobflicks wont start uploading, just says NaN% in the process bar Any suggestions before I rage badly :<?

well the only thing i can think of is that when uploading a video to youtube it takes up nearly all ur internet connection to do so, so everything else is slow and lag to the emense. So wot im saying is, are you or anyone else in the house doing anything with the internet at the same time as the upload?

I guess that it is almost 20 minutes long and in HD, no? Nevertheless a huge filesize.
Why don't you use the Sony AVC codec to compress your output? Youtube accepts it without any problems and it provides quite a good compression ratio. |

@Schosch: will do so if the current one comes out in shit quality. converted it to WMV & uploading now. Was okish on my pc, but i fear it'll come out terrible on youtube. It isn't in HD (atleast didnt select to render it like that) & 15mins long. I have no clue how it came out so big though. Ive done many gaming vids before & most of them were around ~800mb for 15mins. @ViS: tried that & uploading on youtube. Though I believe quality will be trashed EDIT: Youtube failed again: says the format is something they dont recognize >.>, seriously wtf

I know, reason I was concerned bout the quality was since the filesize went down alot when doing so (from 3 gig to 870mb), so obviously the quality suffered, which was already visible on my pc. On youtube it'd get totally destroyed.
Anyhow doesn't matter since youtube still keeps on saying the format isn't accepted & thus keeps on failing. Can't upload my vid anywhere ffs ;C Gonna try once more on youtube with the original files & using a different uploader. Rather than the normal uploading tool, I'll use the gears' one that allows you to upload multiple files at the same time. Hope this will work. Felt like there was something bugged about the normal uploader anyhow. |

For those who uploaded to youtube before, hw long did the whole thing take before it was availible?
I used the other uploader this time that allows multiple files to be uploaded rather than one. It seems to have uploaded it right, but it's been stuck on "uploaded (busy, please wait a moment)" for like 7-8 hours now. Since it are 2 big files (~1,5gb each) i suppose it's normal that it takes a while, but is becomming somewhat silly imo. Any input/experiences ? Google gave nothong of use |

7-8 hours seems a bit too much, but for a file size that big I'd expect no less than 2 hours.

well 1.5GB at the average upload of 333KB/s = 4.5 hours, and a 333KB/s upload is really quite fast, so it could easily take 7 or 8 hours if someone else is using the internet, your upload isn't fantastic, or youtube is quite busy.
Try doing a speedtest.net & a pingtest.net btw.

Huh? WMV and AVI are container formats which describe how the data is stored - they're effectively just wrappers. Video quality and size (I can't imagine what else you would draw from the PNG / BMP comparison) are not dependent on this (if at all) as much as the codec.
Dead thread I guess with the OP now banned.. But this video format misconception bugs me. |
