I've downloaded 2 in my life. Both got found by AV/firewall/whatever and seemed to be dealt with effectively.

I've downloaded probably 8 or 9, some keygens picked up as viruses. Never been infected though always saved by avast!

Rarely get them, except from other people's mp3 players/flash drives. AV catches it...

Still have to refromat windows every year or so though...

Used to get loads, 4 or 5 a day at one point... Anyone everheard of Limewire? One of the biggest sources of malware I've ever seen. I refuse to have it on my network, nevermind my computer, and I strongly suggest that other people do the same

Apart from the ones that were caught by my antivirus software (more than 10) I've had two serious ones so far, both some years ago (when I was still a noob regarding PCs).
The first one always displayed an advertising message to scan my PC for malware (yeah sure...) and the second one corrupted most of the *.exe files on my C: drive. Had to reformat in both cases.

I've only ever had one serious virus, got it from a torrent, my dad wanted this rare film I couldn't find anywhere I should've known, who the hell puts a movie in a .rar file >.>

But I've never had any problems with normal torrents and Limewire I dl'ed about 3.5K songs lol and about 30 games from torrents + about 50 movies.

I've had a few that got detected by Avast FTW. I've never had a virus actually infect my PC... yet

Oh and I also have always downloaded stuff from Limewire and never had any trouble

I had a few minor Trojans and a Browser Hijacker (kept setting my homepage to something, I forget what) back when I was about 13 and was using the free version of Zonealarm. Now i'm less stupid and use Avast! and Chrome, both of which help to catch malware.

I'm not one of the fuck-ups that tries to directly open a game I downloaded right after I downloaded it, so... no viruses for me.

I had one on the old computer and none on my laptop so far. Well i guess it wasn't really a virus, just a blue screen of death.

A few, but they get blocked.
Though if you ask my dad thje computer overheating and basically self-destructing was from a virus, not the 3 lbs of dust caked in the fans, which he completely refuses to mess with, for fear of breaking the computer.

i have from flash drives.
I've had one serious ones so far, they eat my file with .rar or .ext. i have lose many data, ugh

now, i use deepfreze.

Every Movie i download is in a .RAR file...
Just have to find a trustworthy source i guess, i never use torrents so maybe that's why but still .RAR is pretty common for any file.

I use torrents a lot for everything .RAR files are very common for programs, games or very large files like a whole TV series, but single movies always come in .avi, .wmv .mpeg2 etc... very rarely they're compressed in .RAR files

But I've never seen a movie in a .RAR file type on P2P software which was what I used to dl that film for my dad.
