Do I need a usb wireless lan networking adapter?

Do I need xbox live gold account to play online?

Is gold just a code that i put in then i create my account online?

1. Yes you have to buy one, they make them different for the xbox, you can buy one at any best buy, or some kind of gamestop. Last i checked they were kind of expensive, im not gonna look it up but prolly 60$+

2.When you create an account it is always going to be silver, you put the gold code into your silver account so that you can play games online.

someday im going to make a forum account, register an email to it, and post asking a question, then wait for a reply, when i could have just googled said question.

I plan on posting here alot more, this just happens to be my first post.

So will it work if I get one of those adapters and buy a gold card off eBay? Or do I need to get the silver one from somewhere else first?

I'll be playing on PS3 as well as it is so easy to set up and you don't have to pay to play online.

Yes, you need an adapter for 360 I believe, Amazon has some for a cheaper price than retail. I apologize that some responses you have gotten were rude and inconsiderate, and I hope your questions were answered.

I'd stick with one console though, unless you really care about exclusives.

Thanks for your help; I'm starting to play on a PS3 that I'm borrowing from a friend for a few weeks as I can't afford to get xbox live on my 360 at the moment. In a few weeks I'll revert to that.

I doubt it, because your 360 still needs a signal to get the internet from. If you really want to play online with a 360, you'll have to buy said network adapter and already have wireless internet. However, you can also buy a long ethernet cord and connect it that way.

It's a wireless connection but extremely fast. So once I've got the Internet running and the adapter plugged in is the card from eBay all I need?

you dont have to buy a gold card from ebay, in fact that seems like a strange place to buy a card. You can buy a gold membership card, at any best buy or future shop, blockbuster, gamestop, any game store really should have them. Also if you got a credit card you can just buy gold membership on xbox live. Really the most helpful thing to do would just be set up your silver account, (free) and then you can see easily how and what you need to do from there.
