I just figured this out, tested it, and it works. Lets me sound whore for the first time.
![]() This is for people who don't have a gaming headset, don't want to disturb someone with your OMALOL Noobtubes and have a television far from them. This option does pretty much the same as one of the pricey headsets you buy online, except sound quality depends solely on FM radio connection security. Console only, for PC, use your dang headphones! What you will need is: -A Television with a Headphone Input. -One Set of Headphones -MP3 w/ FM Radio -MP3 FM Radio Transmitter -Whatever is Needed to Power These Here's what you need to do: 1. Plug in the FM Transmitter into the headphone input of the television. Tune the transmitter it to a station that is complete static. 2. Plug the headphones into the MP3 and tune the MP3's radio into the transmitter's chosen station 3. Adjust volume, and such to liking on television/MP3. Play a game, see how effective it is. If the sound quality is horrid, it most likely is the MP3 and where it is. Move yourself/the MP3 to work, and still comfortable. To use the actual headset to talk to others, I would just put it over the headphones if you're the determined to do both.

??I don't have any of that stuff except a TV but I suppose it would be good if you did have all that.

Nice idea if you already have those things, but wouldn't it be easier / cheaper to just buy a wireless headset if you don't?
Curious as to what the actual cost comparison is (factoring in avg audio quality also) - but after a quick look around I couldn't find any FM transmitter that was substantially cheaper than a wireless headset of similar assumed quality, let alone the other bits. But, an interesting way of setting it up all the same

ViS has mentioned this somewhere, cheap circumaural (<?) headphones work just fine. along with a headset.
Use normal headphones. Use Mic, set mic playback through speakers, ajust TV Volume, Ingame Volume and Voice Volume until you find the best mix. Also moved. Last edited by Voodoo; 05-10-2010 at 11:32 PM. |

From what I'm assuming, I'm being told that I should just use headphones. The television is a few yards away from me. I don't want a cord that long. The materials I used were just wasting space.
