Hopefully a simple question.
Can I put the components of this: Acer Aspire M3802 specifications | Expert Reviews (my pc at the mo, but with an ATI 4870, and a better PSU, but the bastard who fitted it didn't tell us the wattage!) Into: Coolermaster HAF 932 Full Tower Case - High Air Flow Design - No PSU - Ebuyer Without needing to buy any extra stuff? Because there's an awesome deal at a local PC store where they're selling it for £60!! Clearance ftw!

Yes. Although the cheap PSU (I'm assuming it's cheap if they didn't tell you the make/model. Wattage, btw, means f*** all) may cause complexities, but not ones which are impossible to overcome.
old PC will have an mATX mobo. If the PSU was sub £30 it'll probably have annoyingly short cables and not many connectors. This means you'll have to pass on the top exhaust fan & mount the PSU at the top of the case.

All right then, the guy charged £60 for the PSU change, although I'm not sure whether he was just upping the price for the service and whatnot. At the time it happened I was computer illiterate and knew nothing so I just went with it.
![]() I'll buy it anyway, as even if the PSU fails on me I can get a new one (I'm pretty sure Corsair are a good brand to go for, and I do have the extra moneys). I'm more computer smarts now. The case will be good for when I get a whole load of components to replace the bog standard ones too. Motherboard, RAM, CPU all at once would work I assume. I'm gonna have a little clean out in my case soon anyway, so I'll check the PSU then. It gets awful dusty in there lol. Thanks abc!

Good news! I got the working and my temps (according to speedfan) are roughly down about 15C, and GPU is down by 20C. That's idle, but I'm sure it has had effects on load too lol. Because it's a shitty Acer motherboard I had to find where the power switch cable through trial and error, which took a while.
You were definitley right about the PSU. It had pretty short cables, so cable management was not an option. I got all the fans up and running all right, and have had no issues so far. Thanks abc! (you deserve many, you're a savior for tech!)

Glad you got it working. Did you grab a make/model of PSU off the sticker or something? If I actually owned a PC shop I'd value unscrewing 4 screws, picking up a small square box, sliding in a new square box, doing up 4 screws and connecting the square connector to the square plugs and the rectangle connectors with the rectangle plugs etc at about £10 max. I'd be suprised if he put in a £50 corsair when a £25 generic one would have been fine as far as he was concerned. Dunno.

Nah, that part of the mobo didn't say anything on it. The computer it was designed for (my old one) has an 8 pin connector for everything that just slots in one go - the new case has lots of small ones designated for each bit (power, reset, etc). I think that's why there's no labelling.
And no, I looked all over the PSU, and there's no brand on it, it only has a sticker saying "550U" on it. It looks quite strange lol. It'll do for now, as I've got things working, but I aim to replace it ASAP. Something that'll last a long time and I can use in future rigs and stuff.
