Default Fraps tries to uninstall after every reboot

Every time I power up my comp I get an automatic prompt to uninstall fraps. I just tell it no but it's getting quite old. Obvious solution is leave the comp on 24/7 but who wants to do that.

Any suggestions?

Spoiler:
I did not get it legit if that makes a difference, I know I'm a bad ghostie.

I'm afraid I only have the freeware version of FRAPS, not the retail or ripped ones. Have you checked your Startup services to see if something funky is in there that shouldn't be?

Not certain that this will make a difference but you could still give it a try.

Start>Run>msconfig>startup

Look for any FRAPS thingys and remove their permission to run on startup.

I was thinking that ^^^ but then I wondered if it were merely an annoyance feature (like versions of windows have & many other programs) that is activated when it decides/finds out that it's not a legally obtained copy?

Would be suprised if FRAPs were that advanced/bothered about it though. Also, why would it randomly start unless there was an update. I would be suprised if FRAPs has an auto updater.

This is getting repetitive.

Looks like the un-install executable managed to get pinned to Startup so I removed it. All is well.

Next time I have control over someone's computer I need to remember to do this. Pin all the uninstall .exes on their PC to startup.
