Ok 1st off this is about my ps3 but i want advice from pc people
2nd off im gonna sound like a big noob in a second Ok right my ps3 fan has been running overtime recently and no it has nothing to do with the weather as i had fans on it and stuff and the plastic case was very cool. Back on topic, i read into in and the fan goin overdrive could be du to dust build up inside now i didnt want to fork out on a new ps3 if something overheats and breaks so i bought some compressed air to clean the insides out a bit. Right this is wot i want advice on. As i have never used compressed air before i shook the can and instead of letting off the discharge i fired the 1st blast at my ps3 insides of course the liquid went in so wat i want to know is is that liquid harmful? In short is the chemicals in the compressed air destructive when in liquid form? Last edited by fenny; 07-01-2010 at 04:51 PM. |

1. Never shake compressed air, as it results in you shooting liquid out. Technically the canister may blow up in your hand if you shake it too much. 2. I've had that liquid go directly onto my computer components before with no problems. Obviously you want to avoid this situation from happening (so don't shake the can and try to not point it from an angle while using) to begin with, but it is unlikely that you damaged anything with such a small spurt of liquid. If you are concerned, just give your unit a few hours before you try to boot it up, so any remaining residue has time to dry up.
