My computer runs Modern Warfare 2 just fine - full settings and everything. If it helps though, I did have to 'update my drivers' whatever that means at first because it was messing up the on screen text. But now it runs fine all the time.

So, will it likely run Bad Company 2? Because to be honest, MW2 pisses me off too much and COD4 is just too old - although I have lately been playing it instead.

My computer runs MW2 with everything on high and yet it does not run BC2 well at all. I top out at 30fps with nothing happening. Gunfights easily drop me into the low teens.


The freaking splash screen puts my CPU usage up to 97%, much less the game itself.

Basically, if you don't have a quad core processor don't bother getting the game. I am dead serious. If you do have a quad core, make sure your video card is a high end one, not a generation or two old.

DICE did a piss poor job of optimizing the PC port of BC2. The console version runs great overall though. Played it at a friends house on his PS3, it was like a whole different game.

Hmm. Alrighty then. I was looking at the possibility of buying the old (but only 6 month old) computer of the computer genius that fixes all our problems, and even though he's getting rid of it he spend like $2000, so it should run any game.

I also had this problem when I wanted to get BF2. But luckily, this time I checked, because last time I got the game and it wouldn't run, so *then* we had to go get the computer updated.... ehhh.

If/when you get that PC, post what your updated specs are. Hard to guess by the simple age of a machine.

If it helps you aren't missing much on the PC at least. It took DICE 2 months of delays to release their latest patch on PC. It had been out on console the whole time, but every other day they kept announcing and then delaying it.

I don't think there will be any problems running games on his computer - he designed it for gaming himself, and he's pretty tech savvy and well off. Still, that might mean it will cost me $1800.... so its not a sure thing yet. Hell maybe I'll play runescape. (jk, I hope)

It completely depends on the spec.

There isn't any point me going into any more detail without knowing the spec. Your question is a bit like saying "I'm really good at tennis, will I be any good at baseball, because you kinda hit things with a stick in both games."
