Last night I was playing UT GOTY Edition on my laptop last night and well... I lagged. I was like WTF the laptop is twice as good as my old Desktop PC yet the PC runs it fine on the highest available settings.

PC specs; AMD Duron(tm), MMX, 3DNow, ~800MHz, 448MB RAM, 137 GB Hard Drive (This is bull, the hard drive is actually 300 GB, but my mother board is so old its like, "Derp, WTF is 300 GB? Hmm... I think you can have 137 GB. Have a nice day and STFU!"), Video Card: 64 GB RADEON 7000 SERIES

Laptop specs; Intel Core 2 Duo 1.5 GHz, 1.5GB RAM, 100 GB Hard Drive, Video Card: I don't even Fing know, the laptop doesn't even list its specs, tried looking it up on the manufactures web site and google but got nothing.

Your laptop is twice as good in virtually every area...

except it doesn't have a dedicated GPU. Probs an intel GMA3200 or something. In other words, useless. Link us to the product page on the manufacturer's website please.

Thats the GMA X3100. One of Intel's "better" chipsets yet still a POS.

Just about all games will need to be tweaked heavily to run & don't ever bother trying to run something that looks decent like COD4. You wouldn't get 20 FPS on minimum settings.

I wish I had the cash to upgrade my desktop PC so I could use it for a gaming machine again. Then I wouldn't need my PS3 or Xbox.

real terms performance is all about settings & drivers. Recent ATI drivers haven't been fantastic. You'll be running 1680*1050 or 1920*1080 compared to a laptop's probable 1366*786 or something (the point is there are almost half the number of pixels to render) Things that sound trivial like shadows make a massive difference. The program you use to record can make a big difference.

One person's "high" settings is another's "native res with a few of the GPU intensive features turned off but textures still on high." Then there is wording, I mean look at the options menu in a crytek/dunia game, you have the option of "high, very high, highest & extreme." So "all options on "high"" actually means all options on lowest.
