So my friend bought a new computer, that we built (it's a monster, 2000£)
Anyway, we put it windows 7 ultimate 64bit It got to the first bit, press any key to continue, windows is installing or whatever, then BOOM windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer windows 7, maybe problem with usb or harddrive or cd-rom ect ect We reboot a couple of times and get the same message. Then it just skips the press any key part. Then the screen login shows up with his old account from his old computer (HOW THE FUCK) but the password was not the same and resolution low. We reboot again and same shit happened, but this time it was perfect resolution and the password worked (WTF) we get to the desktop, and there are two programs on it from his old computer (again wtf) MSI afterburner and speccy. We load speccy and it shows all his specs (even the hardrive that it claimed to be a problem with) everything correct but one bit: But it said he had a 32bit windows Now, we didn't get past the installing windows 7 screen, no setup or anything, and his account magically appeared on the new computer, with two programms. How the fuck did this happen?

Sounds like you didn't format the drive before you installed. Sounds like you just installed over the old installation.
Also sounds like maybe he has two partitions (one has his old stuff on it) and you installed win 7 on the new partition but the file which chooses when/where/what to boot from gets confused with two OSs and picks the old one. Just start again. Wipe drive. Disconnect everything but 1 hard drive, 1 disc drive and a keyboard/mouse. I.e. no card readers, no 2nd hard drives, no wifi dongles etc. Install from scratch.

it shoulg go (very roughly)
* hello, welcome to win 7 disc, would you like to repair or install? * then upon install it should be vaguely "which partion?" or "would you like to format" or "would you like to do a quick format" etc * then the "loading a million files" bit * then the turning on/off a million times bit Failing that, here's a plan. Remove the disk you want to use and put it in another computer, boot (for the love of god make sure you boot onto the proper disc for that computer with it's own drivers/windows etc on it and don't boot to the disk you want to use for the new PC) then format the new PC's disk from within windows. Then put it back in the new PC and install as usual?
