So I have a wireless router with two computers hard wired in and one connected through a wireless adapter. (TP-Link I think, in the PCI slot) For some reason my connection just dropped and in the system tray it says connected to "unidentified network" with a "Identifying..." and "No Internet Access". Could it be that my router just blew up? I tethered my phone using it's 3G signal and it can connect to that so I don't think it's the adapter or the computer.
I'm talking about the wireless computer, the two wired computers are still getting internet. Halp? Windows 7 Dell Studio comp

Tried resetting the router? (Pull out all wires, leave for 5 minutes)
Usually solves similar problems I have occasionally. If not, waiting an hour or so and resetting the PC often works.

^^^ the pull out wires bit is crucial, hitting a reset/off button etc probably won't do it. Technical term for this is to "power cycle" a piece of hardware.

I pulled out the power cable in the router for 10 minutes and plugged it back in, no dice.

I had the same problem. Go on internet explorer, type: 192.168.0.1
log in and upgraded the firmware, never had that problem again

Update: Got the firmware off the linksys site, installed it, no change.
Re-formatted my computer that was having the problem connecting, no change. Reset the router to default unprotected settings, no change. I'm completely out of ideas.

I'm not familiar with Linksys routers, but it's probably a good idea try and isolate the problem:
Try using a different wireless dongle (ask someone if you can borrow theirs?). - If it works, then your PCI card is buggered. A little extension to this is that you could try the PCI card in another computer. Or try connecting to another router using your existing PCI card. - Obviously, if this works, the router is the issue.

Stupid Joo didn't install the right drivers for his new wireless adapter, GG.
It's working now though.
