This problem occured just recently. When I record any game with Fraps it starts to lag as if my hardware couldn't keep up with the capturing process anymore after two or three minutes, the first part however is captured in perfect 720p60. (I play in 1280x720 fullscreen, but this happens with other resolutions, too)
The main example is MW2: The first few minutes I can record with super-steady 60 fps, after that it fluctuates between 55 and 61 fps. The footage I get looks very jerky and the games become almost unplayable at some point. Stopping the recording process gives me wonderful 60 fps again. Starting it once more, the lag starts right away. Specs: Spoiler: The graphics drivers are up to date, the sound drivers should be fine, too (06/2009). Temperature problems can be ruled out, playing in 1680x1050 for hours straight works fine. CPU usage is about 70-85 percent while recording, the HDDs are fast enough and defragged. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue? |

I have a similar problem where it will record smoothly @ 85 FPS then after a few minutes it'll start constantly freezing for several seconds at a time. I've tried everything I can think of to fix the problem.
